This is a major win for Trump’s Venezuela strategy.

Newsweek reported:

The Donald Trump administration announced Monday that it was reopening the United States Embassy in Venezuela, calling it a “key milestone.”

After seven years of working through Bogota in neighboring Colombia, the U.S. State Department said the embassy in Caracas would resume its work.

The embassy was closed during the first Trump administration in 2019, amid a decline in relations between the two countries.

“The resumption of operations at U.S. Embassy Caracas is a key milestone in implementing the President’s three‑phase plan for Venezuela and will strengthen our ability to engage directly with Venezuela’s interim government, civil society, and the private sector,” the State Department said in a statement.

Ambassador Dogu said the embassy reopening will create jobs and grow the connection between the two countries.

The US government will now have a permanent diplomatic presence in Venezuela.

Breitbart reported:

Ambassador Dogu and her team published a video on social media announcing the reopening of the embassy. In the video, Dogu proclaimed in Spanish, “we are once again, the U.S. embassy in Caracas.”

Throughout the video, Dogu’s team explained that resuming embassy operations means that the U.S. government will have a permanent diplomatic presence stationed in Venezuela, which will allow U.S. business leaders to connect with their local counterparts, as well as allowing the diplomats to engage with all political and civil society actors.

Additionally, Dogu’s team detailed that reopening the embassy will create job opportunities and allow to continue rebuilding the facilities to provide consular services in the future and promote the flow of information, exchanges, and connections between our countries.

Art of the deal!
