President Donald Trump is calling on Alaskans to unite behind Republican candidates in the upcoming November election, voicing support for incumbent U.S. Senator Dan Sullivan and Congressman Nick Begich while criticizing the state’s ranked-choice voting system.

In a post, Trump questioned why three Republicans are running against one Democratic candidate for governor, arguing that the divided Republican field raises concerns about the party’s chances. He also condemned ranked-choice voting, calling the system corrupt and expressing hope that it will be repealed in the November vote.

Trump praised Sullivan’s performance in the Senate, describing him as a “phenomenal” senator, and highlighted Sullivan and Begich as a strong team for Alaska.

He urged residents to get out and vote, noted that early voting begins October 19, and said he plans to visit the state soon to encourage voter participation.

Truth Social:

Can you believe that Alaska, a State I love, and won BIG, all three times, has three Republicans running against one Dumocrat for Governor? What is that all about? How stupid are we to do this? On top of it all, we have the Corrupt Ranked Choice System of Voting, which shouldn’t be allowed in our Country and will, hopefully, be repealed in the November Vote! In any event, we have one Great Candidate running for the United States Senate. His name is Dan S. Sullivan, and he is the Incumbent, and doing a phenomenal job — Bringing more business to Alaska than any other Senator in U.S. History. Alaska needs Senator Dan S. Sullivan in the Senate, and Congressman Nick Begich, in Congress — That is a fantastic team. GET OUT AND VOTE! I’ll be coming to Alaska soon, and look forward to seeing you all just to make sure you do so. Early Voting starts October 19th. MAKE AMERICA GREAT AGAIN! President DONALD J. TRUMP

Ranked-choice voting will be on the ballot in November.

Before Alaskans are more than fifty contentious contests. The contests will decide the direction of the state’s future and could be the deciding factor in which party controls the U.S. Senate.

One Democrat leads in the race for governor, making it clear his candidacy is a referendum against the state’s Republican governor. Three Republicans run against him, with GOP concerns on how their electorate will turn out.

A one-term congressman seeks to hold his seat, holding one of the most impressive advantages in primary results, which the frontrunning Independent challenger hopes to recover from.

And Alaskans will vote on how they want to vote — get rid of or keep ranked choice voting and the nonpartisan primary.
