Trump-appointed judge Matthew J. Kacsmaryk issued an injunction against the FDA’s approval of the abortion drug mifepristone.
According to HHS Secretary Xavier Becerra said on CNN that “everything is on the table” when asked about how the Biden administration would respond to the ruling.
He said this after being directly asked if the administration would just ignore the ruling.
Department of Health and Human Services Secretary Xavier Becerra told a CNN host on Sunday that anything is possible when it comes to ensuring American women have access to abortion pill mifepristone.
In a controversial ruling, Trump-appointed U.S. District Judge Matthew J. Kacsmaryk issued an injunction against the FDA’s approval of mifepristone as a lawsuit contesting the drug’s safety and approval proceeds through federal court. Politicians such as Senate Majority Leader Chuck Schumer, D-N.Y., condemned the decision, warning that it “could throw our country into chaos.”
According to the Food and Drug Administration, mifepristone is used with another medication called misoprostol to end a pregnancy that has been developing for less than 70 days. The drug works by blocking progesterone, an essential hormone for a pregnancy to continue.

“Everything is on the table,” Becerra replied. “The president said that way back when the Dobbs decision came out. Every option is on the table.”
AOC previously said that the Biden administration should just ignore the ruling.
Lefty darling Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez wants President Biden to evade a federal judge’s ruling against the abortion pill mifepristone — a move that could trigger a constitutional crisis.
“I believe that the Biden Administration should ignore this ruling,” AOC told an incredulous Anderson Cooper on CNN late Friday,
“The interesting thing, when it comes to a ruling, is that it relies on enforcement,” Ocasio-Cortez said.
“It is up to the Biden administration to enforce, to choose, whether or not to enforce such a ruling,” she added — echoing President Andrew Jackson, another defiant Democrat.
Democrats only care about power.
