During an interview on Sunday, Chris Christie stood by Wray.

Republican 2024 presidential candidate Chris Christie defended his positive opinion of FBI Director Christopher Wray Sunday.
Fox News Sunday host Shannon Bream asked the former New Jersey governor directly what he thought of Wray, as most of his GOP opponents gunning for the presidential nomination have promised to fire Wray if they’re elected. Christie’s opponents take issue with the FBI’s treatment of whistleblowers.
“Well look, all those problems happened under the Jim Comey era,” Christie said, referencing John Durham’s report. “And Christopher Wray has come in and fired every person that was in the Comey leadership team in the FBI. These whistleblowers have come out because the atmosphere has allowed it to happen now. Not during the Comey era.”

“The fact is that these other folks in the race, they just are looking for a scapegoat,” Christie went on. “They want to blame anybody. I will tell them who to blame. Blame Joe Biden and Merrick Garland, who have not provided the type of leadership in the country or at the Justice Department that you need.”
Wray is testifying in front of the House Judiciary Committee on Wednesday.
FBI Director Christopher Wray will testify in front of the House Judiciary Committee next Wednesday, the committee announced on Wednesday.
The hearing will be to “examine the politicization of the nation’s preeminent law enforcement agency under the direction of FBI Director Christopher Wray and Attorney General Merrick Garland,” according to a notice put out by the committee.
The hearing will take place Wednesday, July 12, at 10:00 a.m.
It will be the first time Wray is testifying publicly to the committee since its members reviewed documents memorializing an FBI informant’s allegations that President Joe Biden and his son Hunter Biden both received $5 million from a Ukrainian oligarch for helping him resolve legal issues, among other things.
