Don Lemon is still not back on CNN.
According to a new report, he will also be taking Monday off from his show “CNN This Morning.”
It is unclear when or if he will return.
CNN anchor Don Lemon will be temporarily benched from the network on Monday following his controversial comments demeaning 2024 GOP presidential candidate Nikki Haley, according to a CNN insider.
Amidst the mounting furor and calls for his firing over his comments last week that were widely condemned as sexist, Lemon was removed from Monday’s “CNN This Morning” on-air lineup Sunday.
A CNN insider told Fox News Digital that Lemon has no plans to return to air earlier than Tuesday, adding that he is “taking the holiday” Monday and that his return to the show depends on “where his head is at.”
There are conversations ongoing about his future at CNN.
“There are ongoing conversations about Don’s future,” a person familiar with the matter told Confider. “He is a constant distraction.”
CNN CEO Chris Licht rebuked Lemon on Friday for the remarks about 51-year-old Nikki Haley being past her prime, saying they had left him “disappointed.”
“His remarks were upsetting, unacceptable, and unfair to his co-hosts, and ultimately a huge distraction to the great work of this organization,” Licht told staffers on the 9 a.m. editorial call, according to a readout of the call obtained by Confider.
