McCarthy Opens Door To Impeaching AG Garland

IRS whistleblower Gary Shapley testified that David Weiss wanted to bring charges against Hunter Biden in DC but was denied.
Shapley said when he confronted Weiss at a “redline” meeting last October, Weiss explained that he had asked the DOJ for special counsel status so he could override the refusals by his DC and California counterparts — but had been refused.
Shapley has six witnesses in that memorialized October meeting to back him up.
Speaker of the House Kevin McCarthy is now saying that if the testimony is true it will be part of a larger impeachment inquiry into Attorney General Merrick Garland.
McCarthy said, “If the whistleblowers’ allegations are true, this will be a significant part of a larger impeachment inquiry into Merrick Garland’s weaponization of DOJ.”
We need to get to the facts, and that includes reconciling these clear disparities. U.S. Attorney David Weiss must provide answers to the House Judiciary Committee.
