A leak from an FBI whistleblower shows that the FBI is targeting misinformation and disinformation as election crimes.

Here is what it says on the document:

Disinformation:

“False or inaccurate information intended to mislead others. Disinformation campaigns on social media are used to deliberately confuse, trick or upset the public.”

Misinformation: 

“Fake or misleading information spread mistakenly or unintentionally”
