Joe Biden is even losing support from some Democrats.
Joe Manchin refused to rule out running against Joe Biden in the Democrat primary. When asked Manchin said, “I’m very much concerned about the direction of our country.”
The Washington Examiner reported:
Sen. Joe Manchin (D-WV) refused to rule out a bid for the White House in 2024 on Wednesday, in which he would launch a challenge against President Joe Biden in the Democratic primaries.
The senator told Fox Business host Larry Kudlow that he had not closed the door on a presidential run in 2024, after Kudlow asked if the senator would run for the Democratic nomination as a “moderate, old-line, pro-growth, well-balanced Democrat.”
“I’m very much concerned about the direction of our country. I will make a decision later on where I can help the country the best I possibly can — and my state. I’m looking for moderate middle,” Manchin replied.
“I tell people, ‘I don’t know where I belong. I don’t know whether they say D[emocrat], R[epublican], I[ndependent], whatever.’ I can tell you this. I belong to one team, the American team. I’m fiscally responsible, and socially compassionate, and I think most of Americans feel the same way.”
Manchin has also not ruled out running on a third party.
Sen. Joe Manchin (D-W.Va) sidestepped questions repeatedly on whether he would consider a third-party presidential run, saying in an interview Sunday that he’s “not ruling anything in, not ruling anything out.”
“You better have Plan B. because if Plan A shows that we’re going to the far reaches of both sides, the far left and the far right, and that people don’t want to go to the far left and the far right, they want to be governed from the middle. I think there is, that you better have that Plan B available and ready to go,” Manchin said when pressed by Shannon Bream on “Fox News Sunday” on whether he was evaluating a third-party run.
A bipartisan political group, No Labels, has been increasing its efforts to find a “unity ticket” to run as a third-party option to what polls suggest will be a rematch between President Biden and former President Trump. Reports have indicated that Manchin is at the top of its list.
Bad news for Biden!
