The new agreement now only includes conduct related to tax offenses, drug use, and gun possession.

It also doesn’t shield him from potential new charges.

Update:

The Judge rejected the plea deal.

This comes after it looked like Hunter Biden’s plea deal was going to fall apart.

The Hill reported:

Hunter Biden’s plea agreement with the Justice Department appeared to unexpectedly crumble during an initial hearing on the case on Wednesday.

Biden, 53, made his first federal court appearance in Wilmington, Del., where he was set to plead guilty to two misdemeanor counts of willful failure to pay income taxes.

But U.S. District Judge Maryellen Noreika, who is overseeing the case, expressed concern about the terms of the agreement, according to CNN and the Associated Press.

CNN reported:

The judge called a second recess in the Hunter Biden plea proceedings as it appeared that the agreements the president’s son had reached with prosecutors had begun to unravel.

The judge said she had “concerns” about the parties seemingly linking the tax plea agreement to the deal on the gun charge. During the proceedings, prosecutors confirmed that the investigation into President Joe Biden’s son was ongoing.

The judge had been questioning the parties on the scope of the agreement.
