She called it “another important step.”

She did try to take some credit for the release.

Breitbart reported:

UFOs have apparently penetrated the psychological armor of the incessant anti-Trump mindset among Congressional Democrats as the president is getting praise from an unlikely lawmaker over his release of UAP files.

Longtime Trump detractor, Sen. Kirsten Gillibrand, (D-NY) the leader of Senate Democrats’ campaign arm, applauded the release of dozens of “never-before-seen” images and videos Friday, stating, “Transparency is the only path to truth.”

She did, however, claim to take credit for pushing the president in that direction.

The files were released on Friday and put onto a dedicated government website.

More files are expected to be released “on a rolling basis.”

NBC News reported:

The Pentagon on Friday began releasing “never-before-seen” files relating to unidentified anomalous phenomena — previously and more infamously known as unidentified flying objects, or UFOs — that the government has been holding onto for decades.

The files have been a source of intrigue and fascination for generations of skeptical Americans wondering if we’re alone in the universe.

The release came nearly a month after President Donald Trump gave a sneak preview of the possible contents, telling a conservative gathering that some “very interesting documents” would be released by the Department of Defense “very, very soon.”

The first batch of the long-awaited files on what the government is calling Unidentified Anomalous Phenomena (UAP) are being housed on a dedicated government site, https://www.war.gov/UFO/, and additional files will be added to the site “on a rolling basis,” Pentagon Public Affairs said in a press release.

After the release of the files, Trump called for people to “decide for themselves” on the topic of UFOs/UAPs.

Truth Social:

As for my promise to you, the Department of War has released the first tranche of the UFO/UAP files to the Public for their review and study. In an effort for Complete and Maximum Transparency, it was my Honor to direct my Administration to identify and provide Government files related to Alien and Extraterrestrial Life, Unidentified Aerial Phenomena, and Unidentified Flying Objects. Whereas previous Administrations have failed to be transparent on this subject, with these new Documents and Videos, the people can decide for themselves, “WHAT THE HELL IS GOING ON?” Have Fun and Enjoy! President DONALD J. TRUMP
